Thank you for taking a look at Amy Mania v.0.1!

This is a mod that focuses on bringing Amy Rose into Sonic Mania. She has an abundance of new moves such as listed below!

For Amy's first move, she has her signature Hammer Attack! This move can be activated by pressing the "Second Action Button" and will destroy any enemies within a specific radius. For Amy's second ability, she has a High Jump. This move lets you reach high heights with simple activation! All you need to do to perform the high jump is to either look up and press the jump button, or run at a moderate pace and press the "Second Action Button." Last but certainly not least, we would like to introduce to you Amy's newest move... The "Heli-Hammer!"(tm) this move allows to you hover for short periods of time, and can be activated by pressing the jump button once, and then holding it. (Similar to Knuckles's ability)

As this is a demo, please do not expect ALL of the animations to be completed just yet. There are a couple of placeholders for animations we haven't quite gotten to, so please pay them no attention.

Once again I just wanted to thank everyone supporting this mod, it has been quite the journey and I am glad to be bringing it out this SHC! Hope everyone enjoys the contest, I'll see you all later!

Some sprites will be placeholders at the moment. Although this will change when the mod releases completely.

What is this "second action" key? There's no such key in the control options

I gave CodeNameGamma a huge lot of flak for this in the staff channel.

The "second action button" is the C button as called by the game's engine.

It cannot be mapped from the settings menu and is by default bound to the `D` key on your keyboard (and forgot which controller button).

The only way to rebind that key is through the developer menu.

I believe it is possible to remap via the controls menu in default mania, and from my personal experience, people usually change the controls through that selection. Because of this I had no idea what to call it, so therefore I just labeled it the “second action button”

Fun character, I'm a big fan, but I noticed something odd (That might be a fluke)

While playing steam share, with Amy as player one, and a second player as knuckles in mania mode (And knuckles mode)

If amy is in the air from a jump, and knuckles pushes jump, amy automatically did a Heli-Hammer.

Edit: A quick double check, if any player pushes jump while amy is in the air causes this. (I tried competition mode, with players 2 and 3, while P1 was amyand was still able to cause it)

I've been looking forward to this mod! The sprites are GORGEOUS! They fit perfectly and are adorable! The moveset is fun, including Heli-Hammer! Enjoyed my playthrough! I have some suggestions though.

Having High Jump's input change between standing or running is odd. Remembering what to press when I was at high speed kept me from using it more. Keep it consistent.

I'd like if Amy could use her hammer in the air like in Advance 1, it was fun timing button presses.

This mod is fantastic! It really feels like a proper new character DLC in Sonic Mania. I hope one day it can be in a new character slot rather than over Mighty so she can seamlessly join in with the gang. I have a few suggestions for both troopsushi and CodenameGamma, for their respective roles on the project.

For the sprites, some of them are a bit inconsistently sized; in particular, Amy seems too small when hanging and too large when spring twirling and frozen. Also, while not a huge deal, I think it might be a good idea to make Amy's jump ball smaller, like Tails's, to reflect her smaller size.

For the moveset, I think it would be a good idea to allow Amy's looking up-into-high jump ability to activate when pressing the action button, because it's a bit confusing to use the action button when running but the jump button when crouching. Also, the standard hammer attack can't destroy breakable walls, which seems odd. Other than that, it works wonderfully!

First off, the spritework is on point. The gameplay is fun, I do wish that more of Amy's Advance moveset was incorporated, where she lacked a spin dash and a standard jump and instead you had to perform a peel-out and had to time when to swing the hammer. Also in Advance her hammer when swung on a spring would launch her further. It made Amy both this kind of hard mode depending on the situation, but other time it let her break the game in half and that balance was really fun.

The "Heli-Hammer!"(tm) is a lot of fun. There's something really satisfying about having the speed, getting some altitude, using the Heli-Hammer, landing, running for a moment longer, and using it again. Just a very nice and reward flow to it. Only feedback is that I would like when it makes contact with an enemy there would be an additional bounce? Like when I fought the Death Egg Robot I kept expecting some sort of recoil to bounce me back to saftey or a bounce up, instead I would just fly into it.

Also, love the hearts that pop out when you pop a badnik, that's cute. I know that's a lot of text but this might be my favorite entry this year, I loved it, and I'm looking forward to see it continue being worked on! Good work!

I love everything abuot what you're doing, this has been a dream of mine since Mania came out!

My only issues would be the "second action button" and the hammer. I'm playing on a Switch Pro controller, and no matter what i couldnt get the hammer to work. I had to go into the dev menu and bind c to the keyboard, then bind that key to my controller.

I also find the lack of an aerial attack on the same button as the grounded attack really weird. Maybe its just me but i think either the heli-hammer (tm) should be bound to that button as well, or Amy could have an insta-shield like attack in the air. Again, personal taste, but I'd like to believe other people agree lol.
